For Ireland Another King of Diamond's Grandson Wins Big

Though the country seems almost embarrassed by the accomplishments of the offspring of the Legendary King of Diamonds, many sport horse enthusiasts believe Ireland should not avoid the fact that King of Diamonds is the horse that saved more than civilization it saved the Irish Horse. In recent years the Irish Horse Board seems to have gone out of it's way to recognize the accomplishments of some horses over others. For example, the board has been zealous in its work in promoting the Irish Sport Horse Stallion Cruising. Cruising, a truly great horse, is only one from his sire that has made any significant impact in the world of show jumping. In recent news releases from the Irish Horse Board one often feels it avoids mentioning in the case of many winners that there is King of Diamond's some where in the ancestry.

Once again, a grandson of King of Diamonds, is bringing high esteem to the reputation of the Irish Horse. Once again Coolcorron Cool Diamond has brought respect to Ireland's Nation's Cup Team.

This half brother of America's most popular Irish Draught Stallion, O'Leary's Irish Diamond, anchored Ireland's Nations Cup Team in its victory at the Samsung Nations Cup at Washington DC. See the Story in the Chronicle of the Horse below.

Some breeders, fear that the Irish Horse Industry is worried that giving due recognition to King of Diamonds may lead the consumer to believe, there is no other pedigree in Ireland worthy of purchase than that of King of Diamonds.

In recent years the Board is promoting a strategy of importing horses from the continent in hopes of convincing consumers there is something other than King of Diamonds in Ireland. Is it a good or bad problem remains to be seen.
