Since the American Draught Society started a false advertising campaign of claiming that the great Irish Sport Horses were Irish Draught Sport Horses there has been much confusion. They are not the same. The American Society hoped this false advertising would build its reputation. However, only the American society registers Irish Draught Sport Horses and to this date has not had an Irish Draught Sport Horse win at the international level. The Irish Sport Horse registered and promoted by the Irish Horse Board is famous. The Horse Board not the American Society deserves credit for the Irish Sport Horse.
The society is simply stealing horses to falsely build some kind of credibility it doesn't deserve. In the old American West horse theives were hung. It still is a terrible activity. Stealing.
It is possible someone from Ireland will register their Irish Sport Horse wilth the American Society for hope of getting favor with the American Society but the breeding of that horse will have not been by one of nearly 30 of the society's stallions never seen under saddle before being approved as a breeding stallion. There are some Irish Breeders, who apparently believe their membership in the American Society will bring them some kind of reward. The Society is now promoting stallions like Coolcorron Cool Diamond as Irish Draught Sport Horses. It should be noted this stallion is not a product of the society's breeding program.
